这是一篇隐喻连篇的杰作，人物应是Joan Baez和Bob Dylan。钻石象征着坚定和闪闪发光的过往，锈代表着变质和时间的痕迹。这首歌对我来说具有非常特殊的意义，1978年在台北实践堂第二届金韵奖的决赛舞台上，我怀抱吉他唱出它之后，就一直没有走下舞台。

===== 题记 (snowrecall) =====
Joan Baez的这首著名的作品发表于1975年，以此追忆她与Bob Dylan之间一段刻骨铭心的恋情。这首歌曲可以和齐豫的叹息瓶相映生辉。但是，这两首作品风格又颇有不同：叹息瓶化繁为简，把情感的惊涛骇浪都封存到一个简单而纯净的瓶子里；Diamonds and Rust则化简为繁，以优美的歌词，繁复的意象，晦涩的内涵，为我们展现了一段曾经灿烂无比却又无疾而终的爱情。尽管如此，二者殊途同归，都堪称完美。关于这首歌曲的创作背景请参见Capa在博客里的经典八卦。歌曲首唱时，Joan Baez已年过而立，此后每过十年，她都会相应地更改歌词里的时间，由最初的"Ten yeas ago..."一直唱到近些年的"Forty years ago"，令人感佩不已。这些不同版本的video链接参见后记。其实齐豫的翻唱已经非常出色了，但是看完Joan Baez的Live后，不得不承认，后者的演唱要更胜一筹。在最近的一次演唱会上，Joan Baez已是满头银丝，声音里也透着掩饰不住的苍老，可是在歌声背后的那种过尽千帆的透彻，泪中带笑的幽默，因深无痕的眷恋，却如同钻石一样熠熠生辉。不知道我们是否还用幸能听到"Fifty years ago, I broght you some cufflinks"。也许不能了，人生有几个十年可以蹉跎呀。可是这有什么关系呢？我只知道，Joan Baez对Bob Dylan这段深如渊洋般的感情，注定要在音乐史上谱下不朽传奇。在此谨向这位为民谣和民权运动而生的传奇女子，致以深深的敬意...
